The book collection at the Learning Centre encompasses a wide range of resources including textbooks on management and allied subjects, reference materials (such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, and handbooks), regional and international language books, as well as a children’s section. This diverse collection is curated to support academic, professional, and recreational reading needs of the IIM Indore community.
The LC follows an open access system, allowing users to freely browse and retrieve books from the shelves.

All books are organized using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. Each book is assigned a DDC number based on its subject, which is indicated on the spine label. Books are then shelved in numerical order to facilitate easy browsing and retrieval.
General and subject-specific books are located on the first floor of the Learning Centre.
Reference books, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, and general reading resources, are housed on open shelves in the ground floor Reading Hall for in-LC consultation only.
To check the availability and exact location of any book, users are encouraged to use the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC).
Newly acquired books are prominently displayed at a dedicated display area on the ground floor near the entrance. This allows users to stay informed about the latest additions to the collection.
A monthly list of new arrivals is shared with all users and is also accessible via the Learning Centre intranet.
Books remain on display for one week, after which they become available for borrowing.
